BIOGRAPHY

Winner of the prestigious German theatre award DER FAUST in 2017 for her portrayal of Marie in Zimmermann’s Die Soldaten at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Gloria Rehm is a regular guest at leading theatres in Germany and Austria.

During the 2017-18 season in Wiesbaden she makes three important role debuts – as Iphis in a staged production of Händel’s Jephtha by Achim Freyer and conducted by Konrad Junghänel, as Fiakermilli in Richard Straus’ Arabella directed by Uwe Eric Laufenberg and as Oscar in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera directed by Beka Savić, with both productions conducted by Patrick Lange. She then goes on to make her house debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich as Fiakermilli in Arabella, conducted by Constantin Trinks during the Opernfestspiele.

Ms. Rehm joined the ensemble at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in 2014-15, where her roles have included: Mozart roles such as Despina in Così fan tutte, Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, and Konstanze and Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serail; Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème; Donizetti’s Norina in Don Pasquale and Adina in L’elisir d’amore; Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel; Adele in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauß; Woglinde in Wagner’s Ring Cycle; and Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide.

Gloria Rehm’s 2018-19 season includes return engagements to Wiesbaden as Gilda in a new production of Verdi’s Rigoletto and Ilia in a new production of Mozart’s Idomeneo, as well as revivals of Candide and Un ballo in maschera. She also returns to Oper Frankfurt as Queen of the Night, to the Semperoper as Blonde, and to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf as Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos.

From 2012 to 2014 she was a member of the ensemble at Oper Köln, where her roles included Adina, Blonde, Zerbinetta and Ännchen in Der Freischütz. Past highlights include Blonde and Konstanze with Oper Frankfurt, Queen of the Night at the Volksoper in Vienna and at Theater Heidelberg, Konstanze at the Semperoper Dresden, as well as Zerbinetta at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.

Ms. Rehm has also appeared in concert and recital in Wiesbaden, Cologne and at the Gasteig in Munich. She was nominated as Young Artist of the Year in the magazines Welt am Sonntag and Opernwelt and won the 1st Prize at the Richard Strauss Competition in Munich.
